-Lucille Jamison-

Lucille Jamison, age 84, died Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield. The daughter of Frank L. and Josephine (Metts) Jamison, she was born July 27, 1924 in Wyman, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Columbus Junction High School, class of 1941. Lucille was employed by the State of Iowa as a Social Worker in Davenport, Iowa. From 1964 until her retirement in 1972 she worked for the Department of Security in Phoenix and Glendale, Arizona. In March 2000 she returned to Iowa and lived in Washington until March 2006.

She enjoyed reading, painting and traveling, having enjoyed Great Britain, Mexico, Europe and most of the United States.

She is survived by; two nephews, Frank Jamison and wife, Sandy of Columbus Junction; James B. Jamison and wife, Judy of Bettendorf; one niece, Judy Jamison Swenson and husband, Lee of Newton; six great-nieces and nephews; five great-great nieces and nephew; three cousins, Jeanette Thompson and George Jamison of Phoenix, Arizona and Helen Arthur of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lorence Jamison, and an infant brother and sister.

As per her wishes, cremation has been accorded.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Salvation Army.

Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is in charge of the arrangements.
