-Kenneth L. Jarrard-

Kenneth L. Jarrard, 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Muscatine Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. John Brown will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Conesville Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Dan Jarrard, Brian Jarrard, Terry McDole, Dan Reitinger, Kevin Hetzler and Dean Hetzler. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room. Visitation for Kenneth will be held on Friday, November 21, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the Fruitland Baptist Church in memory of Kenneth. Sympathy notes may be left for the Jarrard family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Kenneth Lee Jarrard was born on July 23, 1929 in Conesville, the son of George Earl and Georgia Estella (Heald) Jarrard. As a teenager, Kenneth accepted the Lord as his savior. On August 1, 1950, Kenneth was united in marriage to Marilyn L. Day at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Kenneth worked at Convair in San Diego, California for 10 years and then Thatcher’s in Muscatine for 23 years. Kenneth was a member of the Fruitland Baptist Church and was an excellent wood craftsman and a singer.

Kenneth will be deeply missed by his wife, Marilyn of Muscatine; his son, Daniel Kenneth Jarrard and his wife, Patricia of Virginia Beach; daughter, Carol Ann Jarrard-Hetzler and her husband, Dean of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Craig, Brian, Lisa and Kevin; four great-grandchildren, Amos, Lydia, Evalyn, and Rileigh and many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Glenn Jarrard and three sisters, Mildred Lutz, Letha Hobart and Velda Lutz.
