Shirley Ann Wade, 77, of Grandview, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at her residence in Grandview.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Muscatine with a luncehon to follow at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Communitty Room. Graveside services were, Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Columbus City Cemetery. Casketbearers were Dave Thompson, Mark Van Auken, Joe Smith, Mike Fuller, John Shephard, and Ronnie Jones. Visitation for Shirley was held on Monday, June 16, 2008 from 4-7 p.m.. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Shirley’s name. Shirley Van Auken was born on May, 8, 1931 in Columbus Junction, IA, the daughter of James F. and Edna M. (Hammond) Van Auken. On November 24, 1949, Shirley was united in marriage to James C. Wade in Grandview. Shirley worked at HJ Heinz for eleven years. Shirley loved shopping at yard sales, fishing, going down to the river, and family get togethers.

Shirley will be dearly missed by her children; James F. Wade and Bertie of Muscatine, Pamela K. Haskins of Muscatine, Patricia A. Miller and Glen of Morning Sun, Robert C. Wade and Criss of Branson, MO, Debbie L. Pace and Rick of Grandview, and Tammy S. Frederick and Dale Frederick of Columbus Junction; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and eleven brothers and sisters.
