-Lloyd M. Marshall-

Lloyd M. Marshall, 87, of Libertyville, IL, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy, IL. He was born July 18, 1920 in Columbus Junction, IA, and had been a Libertyville resident for the past 53 years. Lloyd enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1937 and served as a Chief Petty Officer Turret Captain in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He also served during the Korean Conflict, retiring from the Navy in 1957. Lloyd was a member and former Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville, a member of the Libertyville Masonic Lodge and also the Great Lakes Fleet Reserve.

Surviving are his daughter, Jane (William) Wells of Libertyville; and two grandchildren, Allison and Kyle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Edith Marshall; by his wife, Patricia J. Marshall in 2000; by his daughter, Ellen McMasters in 2002; and by his sister, Wanda Thomas.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 14th at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave (Rt. 176), Libertyville. Interment followed at Lakeside Cemetery. Visitation was from 2-5 p.m., on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Illinois Veteran’s Home.
