Gerald “Jerry” Williams, 87 of Columbus Junction, died on Friday, April 11, 2008, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Ramona Wink, Commissioned Lay Pastor officiated the services. Burial was held in Cambrian Cemetery. Military Rites were provided by the Columbus Junction American Legion. Casketbearers were Michael Singleton, Sarah Houghtling, Matthew Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Morgan Williams, Devon Williams, Alex Williams, Max Williams, Nick Williams, Nate Williams, Johnathan Williams, Ben Williams, and Brian Williams. Following the committal services a time of food and fellowship was held at the Columbus Junction American Legion. Visitation was held on Monday, April 14, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Jerry Williams was born on September 24, 1920, in Wayne County, Nebraska, the son of William Arthur and Jane (Peters) Williams. In March of 1947, Jerry was united in marriage to Myrna M. Bozman. He was a member of the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church, the American Legion, and the Masonic Lodge. He was a former Columbus Junction Volunteer Firefighter. He served in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre during WWII on the USS Idaho. He retired after 38 years of working at LW Services Co. He was a sports enthusiast and a life long St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Jerry will be dearly missed by his children; Jo Milner and her husband, Keith of Marietta, GA, John Williams and his wife, Ann of Indianola, Rick Williams, and his wife, Donna of Iowa City, Eric Williams and his wife, Kathy of Columbus Junction, and Rob Williams and his wife, Susan of Lenexa, KS; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Quigley of Burlingame, CA.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1981; and three brothers, Floyd, Ervin, and Howard Williams.
