-Kenneth LeRoy John Stigge-

Kenneth LeRoy John Stigge, age 80, of Oakville, Iowa, died Monday afternoon, March 5, 2007, at his home. The son of William and Amelia Schwerin Stigge, he was born July 1, 1926 at Burlington. He married Claudine Brown on June 2, 1952 at Oakville, Iowa.

Kenneth served in the US Navy Seabees during WWII from October of 1944 through March of 1947.
He was a carpenter. He was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church at Wapello, the American Legion at Oakville, and the VFW at Wapello.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and his miniature schnauzer dogs. He belonged to and enjoyed the Farmer’s Market at Burlington and River City at Davenport. Kenny loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Claudine; two sons, K. Lawrence and Chris Stigge of Wapello and Bill and Connie Stigge of Wapello; two daughters, Lou Ann Cedillo and Joseph Reid of Wapello and Becky Jo and Tom Murray of Chandler, Arizona ; eight grandchildren, including Lisa Hamilton of Oakville whom they raised from birth; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and three sisters.

The funeral ceremony for Kenneth Stigge will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2007, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello, with Pastor Dan Doolin and Pastor Ken Barlow officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at the Edwards Cemetery in Oakville.

Friends may call from noon to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello where the family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Great River Hospice and the Solid Rock Baptist Church.
