Rosalie Reid, 89, of Columbus Junction, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at her residence east of Columbus Junction, Iowa.

Funeral services for Rosalie were held Saturday, November 17, 2007, at 2:00 P.M.  at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction.   Casketbearers were Ross Masonholder, Jason Reid, Aaron Reid, Richard Arthur, Scott Hyde, Terry Honts, Paul Dickey, David Reid, Tremaine Thomas and Jeff Idle.  Honorary Casketbearers were the rest of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Burial was at Indian Creek Cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the Pleasant Grove Community Church in Rosalie’s name.  Online condolences may be left to the Reid family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com

Rosalie Johnson was born June 17, 1918, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Clyde and Emma (Mitchell) Johnson.  On August 31, 1935, Rosalie was united in marriage to Richard Raymond Reid in Rock Island.   Rosalie was a homemaker and member of different Historical Associations, including the Cooley Family Association and the Harris Family Association.  She enjoyed researching genealogy, listening to music, playing the guitar, gardening, canning her own produce and crocheting.  Rosalie also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rosalie will be dearly missed by her children, Rosalie Ann Honts of Missouri, Charlotte Masonholder and husband, Ron of Hopewell, IL, Lee Reid and wife Linda, of Blackfoot, Idaho, Leland Reid and wife, Kathy of Spring Grove, IL, Janet M. Williams of Ft. Madison, IA, Dallas M. Reid and wife, Carol of Columbus Junction, (Lyle) Bruce Reid, Christal Arthur and husband, Ivan of Columbus Junction, Randy C. Reid and wife, Terri of Round Lake, IL, and Abigail Dickey and husband, Paul of Ankeny, IA; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Lester Johnson and wife, Dorothy of Fredonia; and best friend, Ruth Guenther also of Fredonia.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard in 1987; her sons, Gary Reid in infancy and Richard D. Reid, Jr.; 1 daughter, Darlene Hyde; 1 grandchild; 5 brothers, Clair Johnson, Floyd Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Earl Johnson and Laville Johnson; and 3 sisters, Galilee Wagner, Pearl Gray and Glatha Seitz.
