-David R. Offerman-

David R. Offerman, 64, of Wapello, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine.  Mass of the Resurrection was held on Monday, August 6, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Muscatine.  Father Jason Crossen of St. Mathias Catholic Church officiated.  Casketbearers were Roger Bartenhagen, Dick Wilson, Mark Carroll, Steve Anderson, Bob Jones, Grant Lilienthal, Ralph Grau and Steve Ralfs.  Inurnment was held at Grandview Cemetery.  Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship was held at the Gannon Hall.  Visitation was held on Sunday, August 5, 2007, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association in memory of David.  Sympathy notes may be left for the Offerman family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com

David Rudolph Offerman was born on November 3, 1942, the son of Albert L. and Violet L. (Sebelien) Offerman.  On September 11, 1965, David was united in marriage to Patricia A. Ritter in Mount Prospect, Illinois.  He was self-employed and also in sales and newspaper production prior to his retirement.   David was a member of the BPO Elks Lodge 304 and the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed overseeing his farms in Cedar County.

David will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia “Willie” of Wapello; two sons, David A. Offerman of Des Moines, Iowa and Adam C. Offerman and his wife, Katie L. of West Des Moines; one daughter, Annie P. Offerman of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Aidan D. Offerman and Adalyn G. Offerman; and one sister, Laura L. Anderson and her husband, Judd of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
