-Erric Jason Cordova-

Erric Jason Cordova, 35, son of Manuel Cordova of Crocket, Texas, and Linda (Snyder) Watson of Columbus City, Iowa, passed away September 24, 2011, in a motor vehicle accident near his home in Liberty, Texas.

Funeral services were held October 1st at Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas.  His ashes will be laid to rest in a memorial bench at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Erric was born in Washington, Iowa on August 14, 1976.  He moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, as a young boy where he lived with his grandfather, Trinidad “Pop” Cordova and grandmother Crecencia.  He later moved to Texas City and then to Santa Fe, Texas, where he graduated from Santa Fe High.  Erric had a son, Andrew, 13 with Samantha Garcia before meeting and marrying Alexis Trott in 2005.  Erric and Alexis have two beautiful daughters, Ashlyn, 5 and Addysn, 4.

Erric spent many years working in the oil industry where he was a repairman fixing leaks on lines while they were under pressure.  He last worked at Targa where he was their maintenance supervisor.

Erric loved to cook.  He will be remembered for his crawfish and shrimp boils, and the times spent with his cousin, Cruz Cordova of Houston, Texas, and his many friends and family grilling and enjoying a Bud Light while watching the Texas Longhorns.

But what Erric loved most, was spending time playing with his daughters or attending one of Andrew’s many sporting events.  His love for his family was Erric’s most precious gift.

Erric leaves an extended family both in Texas and Iowa.  They include his father, Manuel Cordova; mother, Linda Snyder Watson and husband, Bob; wife, Alexis and daughters, Ashlyn and Addyson of Liberty, Texas; son, Andrew of Alvin, Texas; brothers, Michael Cordova and family of Crocket, Texas, and Brian Buster and his wife, Amanda and their three children of Cotter, Iowa; sister, Jeannene Clark and her husband, Matt of Columbus Junction and their children, Danielle Woepking of Fruitland, Iowa and Sasha Marin of Columbus Junction; grandmothers, Geneva “Pete” Snyder of Columbus Jucntion and Crecencia Cordova of Corpus Chrisi, Texas, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces nephews and cousins.

Erric was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Trinidad “Pop” Cordova, maternal grandfather, Richard “Dick” Snyder, and cousin, Stephen “Cookie” Aleman.

Erric left something of himself with everyone he met.  His great smile will always be remembered.  He will be missed by his co-workers and many friends and family.

A memorial to celebrate Erric’s life will be held October 23, 2011, at the Masonic Lodge in Columbus City, Iowa from 2-5 p.m.  All memorials will be divided among his three children.
