-Robert Allen Murray-

Robert Allen “Bob” Murray, age 81, of rural Grandview, Iowa, died Monday afternoon, July 2, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. The son of Samuel Dewey and Emma Marie Saip Murray, he was born August 21, 1925 in Republic County, Kansas. He married E. Marie Beik on May 29, 1946 at the home of her parents in Letts, Iowa.

He was a life-long farmer in the community and a member of the Grandview Community Bible Church, the Louisa County Farm Bureau, the Louisa County Historical Society and the Lucky 13 Club. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his family. He also spent many winters in Florida.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Marie; two daughters; Jeanette Brockert of Grandview and friend, Keith Brockway and Jeri and Richard Drawbaugh of Muscatine; a son, John and Teresa Murray of Grandview; ten grandchildren, Jason, Jill, Jeremy, Jed, Adam, Alex, Robby, Alicia, Brietta, and Jenna; five great-grandchildren, Kyndal, Isaiah, Keetyn, Elijah, and Kayliah; two sisters, Lucille Wykert of Fruitland and Marilyn Kemp of Wapello; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and an infant brother.

The funeral ceremony for Robert Murray was held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 6, 2007, at the Grandview Community Bible Church at Grandview. The Rev. Darryl Erickson and grandson, Jason Humiston officiated. Burial followed at the Grandview Cemetery.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the Grandview Community Bible Church, The Louisa County Ambulance Service and the Parkinson’s Foundation.

The Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello provided the care and arrangements.
