-Marleana Ann Massey-

Marleana Ann Massey, age 29, of Wapello, Iowa, died Monday morning, January 15, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at Iowa City, Iowa. The daughter of Phillip and Dretha Parkhurst Watson, she was born January 5, 1978 at Muscatine. She married Jason Lester Massey on February 28, 2004 at Crawfordsville, Iowa.

Marleana grew up in Wapello attending the Wapello Elementary and High School and then graduated from Muscatine High School. She has been a homemaker providing for her boys.

She attended the Grandview Community Bible Church and belonged to the home school groups. She enjoyed quilting, camping, and playing dominos. She centered her life around her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jason; her five boys, Zachary Taylor Massey, Reese Michael Christy; Aidan David Christy, Ethan Merle Massey, and Marty Leroy Massey; her parents, Phillip and Dretha Watson of Wapello; her brother, Shannon Watson of Mt. Pleasant; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael E. and Shirley Ann Massey of Crawfordsville; her grandmothers, Lola Mae Parkhurst of Wapello, and Phyllis K. Watson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her grandparents-in-law, Edward S. and Marjorie Massey of Columbus Junction, and Glen and Ramona VonSprechen of Maquoketa; and her nephew, Jacob Watson of Waynesville, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Shawn Ray Watson and her grandfathers.

The funeral ceremony for Marleana Massey was held on Friday, January 19, 2007, at the Grandview Community Bible Church at Grandview, with Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Burial followed at the Wapello Cemetery.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of her boys.
