-Wayne Buster-

Wayne Buster, 87, of Grandview, Iowa, died Friday morning, March 30, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services were 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Grandview Community Bible Church.   Pastor Darryl Erickson officiated.  Casket bearers were Mike Stineman, Dennis Stineman, Casey Bonnichsen, Kasey Keltner, Darren Maple and Mike Pugh.  Honorary casket bearers were Jerry Cocklin, Dale Frisk, Paul Stineman, Jeff Stineman, Harlan Keltner and Mark Hargrave.  Burial was in Grandview Cemetery with a Masonic Prayer Service and military rites by Allen Wright Hanft American Legion Post #100.  Following the interment there was a time of food and fellowship at the Grandview Community Bible Church.  Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 3rd from 9:00 am until service time at the church.  A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Wayne’s name.  Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Wayne’s family and his arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com

Wayne Dwight Buster was born April 29, 1924 near Grandview, Iowa, the son of Verne J. and Zena A. (Cross) Buster.  On May 19, 1946 Wayne was united in marriage to Janelle Yakle in Grandview.   He was a WWII veteran of the US Marines, serving in the South Pacific.  He was the owner/operator of two businesses, the 66 Station at Grandview Corners and G&W Auto Parts in Columbus Junction.  He was also a longtime member of the KAABA Shriners and originator of the Shriner car Leap‘n Lena.  He was a member of the American Legion and a 64-year member of the Elks.  Wayne was also an avid Cardinals and Hawkeyes fan, and he enjoyed fishing at the cabin and watching baseball and college basketball.

Wayne will be dearly missed by his wife, Janelle of Grandview; his children, Kathy Hanson and her husband, Dennis of Apple Valley, MN and Greg Buster of Grandview; his granddaughter, Tara Rasmussen and her husband, Darin of Rosemount, MN and their children, Gavin, Gillian and Paige; and his sister, Donna Wehr and her husband, Alvin of rural Cotter. 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Brian Bohling; and his sisters, Bonnie Frisk and Nadine Cocklin.
