-Mark Lieberknecht-

Mark Lieberknecht, 64, of Sarasots, Florida, formerly of Columbus Junction, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at his home in Sarasota.  His desire was for cremation and a memorial service will be held at a later time at the Pleasant Grove Church in Columbus Junction, Iowa.  Sympathy notes may be sent to his mother, Kathrin Lieberknecht, at:  5101 Grebel Place, Sarasota, FL 34232.

Mark Lieberknecht was born January 16, 1944.  Parents were Ralph and Kathrin Lieberknecht of rural Columbus Junction.  He was a graduate of Louisa-Muscatine High School in the class of 1962.  He also attended Muscatine Community College.  He was active in Letts Go 4-H Club and Pleasant Grove Church.  He enlisted in the Navy and spent two years on the U.S.S. Forster.  He resided in San Diego, CA, working as a rehab counselor before moving to Sarasota to be near his retired parents.  In recent years, he delivered newspapers for the Sarasota Herald and Pelican Press.

He is survived by his mother, Kathrin; his aunt, Lois Fulmer and husband, Ed of Meadview, AZ; cousins, Jay Fulmer, Sarah Glaber, Tom and Larry Howell, Terry Fitchner, Linda Wheeler, Ruth Wilson, Charlotte Warren, Dave and Ed Hanson.  Mark was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, in 2000.  His final resting place will be with family in the Indian Creek Cemetery.
