-Robert Lee Eichelberger-

Robert Lee Eichelberger, 60, of Muscatine, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at his home.           

Celebration of Life Service was held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.  Reverend Mary Howell of the New Hope United Methodist Church officiated.             

Visitation was from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.  Online condolences for the Eichelberger family may be left at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.           

Robert was born on August 11, 1950, in Muscatine, the son of Wayne C. and E. Marie Lewis Eichelberger.  He married Cheryl Munday on March 6, 1971, in Muscatine.           

He was a graduate of Muscatine High School, class of 1968, and attended one year at Muscatine Community College.           

He had been a six-year member of the US Army Reserve.           

He owned Sajak Implement until 2009 and was a lifelong farmer.           

He was a member of the American Legion, and was a former member of the Moose Lodge No. 388.  He also played 25 plus years with Lefty and the Spinners.           

He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeye’s.  He loved his family very much and always enjoyed the family gatherings at the Sajak’s cottage.           

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cheryl Eichelberger of Muscatine; two daughters, Melissa Coram and husband, Nick, of Muscatine, and Diana ‘Dinky’ Evans and husband, Steve, of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Olivia, Mason, and Brandt Coram, and Lucas and Hayden Evans; one brother, Roger W. Eichelberger and wife, Mary, of Muscatine; one sister, Mary Jo Sajak and husband, Steven, of Nichols; and several nieces and nephews.           

He was preceded in death by his parents.
